About FOUND - a poetry and visual art exhibition

This exhibition is the culmination of a special project to unlock the poetry of museum objects.

For the past few months, celebrated Norwich-based poet, Daisy Henwood, has been working with the public and community groups to create poems inspired by some of the less well-known museum objects at three Norfolk Museums sites: Museum of Norwich, Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse, and Time and Time Museum of Great Yarmouth Life.

From gingham fabric samples to homemade dolls houses, Valentine's Day cards to Neolithic seed samples - the poetic potential of an eclectic collection of objects has been unlocked.

Now artist JMC Anderson has created responses to the poems for this special installation at the Museum of Norwich. With clever word, colour and image play, the resulting artwork uses fragments from the poems printed onto PVC banners, as well as silk and digital prints.

Throughout the galleries, visitors can also see some of Daisy's poems printed as vinyls alongside the objects that inspired them.

FOUND is a fascinating exhibition reflecting the different ways we experience, and love, museums.

FOUND is funded by Arts Council England.
