The Pharmacy recreation at the Museum of Norwich
A simply wonderful recreation of an early 20th century pharmacists shop. This is where, a hundred years ago, people would have sought relief from their ailments and even had their baby weighed.
Counters, drawers and shelves packed with the most amazing array of mysterious potions, chemicals and pills, all in their original packets and containers. You could spend hours spotting the most fascinating things in this cornucopia of health and household goods. As the bottles and their contents are real, you can't touch, but there's an interactive display to help you discover what's hidden inside all those drawers.
Discover the story of how this incredible collection was gathered together over decades by Norwich pharmacist John Newstead using the touch screen presentation.
